This one-day program will consider the many and varied roles and responsibilities of such personnel along with the important position they serve to help the organization achieve its goals and objectives. Topics include: (1) roles and responsibilities of the telecommunicator; (2) the basics of gathering information; (3) how to prepare for\, gather and dispatch information to field personnel during natural and man-made disasters; (4) officer safety issues; (5) suicide and crisis negotiations for the telecommunicator; and (6) handling personal stress when these situations occur. \nCALL-TAKER/NEGOTIATION SKILLS (APRIL 8 – 9\, 2020) \nA two-day seminar designed to improve the skills of call-takers and dispatchers in dealing with negotiation skills.
