SUMMARY:FLORIDA POLICE RECORDS MANAGEMENT:  UNDERSTANDING OF AND COMPLIANCE TO THE RULES: December 7-8\, 2020
DESCRIPTION:This program is designed specifically for Florida law enforcement personnel\, whether sworn or civilian\, who are assigned to the records unit within their agency.  The focus of the course will relate to the maintenance of records in an efficient manner and in compliance with Florida laws and regulations. This will not be a lecture type program\, rather\, it will provide opportunity for participants to voice their concerns and to gain the necessary knowledge base relative to this important job function.   \nTopics covered will include\, but will not be limited to:  \n\ndealing with the public in terms of both public and exempt type records\ncopying of records\nlaws and statutes to follow in regard to the handling of your agency’s records\nresources available regarding interpretation of applicable laws\napplicable and permissible fees\nhandling sealed and/or expunged records\nrules and regulations regarding retention and destruction in compliance with Florida guidelines\n\nThe program will also assist new records personnel to become acquainted with the options available to them to make their job easier and less stressful. \nINSTRUCTOR: William May\, Police Administrator and Head of Records Unit\, Port St. Lucie Police Department\, Port St. Lucie\, Florida. \nLOCATION/TIME:  December 7-8\, 2020\, St. Augustine Police Department\, 151 King Street\, St. Augustine\, Florida\, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily. \nFEE: $295 per person. \nDISCOUNT RATE:  Enroll two agency personnel at $295 per person and the third person is enrolled at half-price ($147.50).  Enroll three agency personnel at $295 per person and the fourth person is enrolled free. \nREGISTRATION: To register for this seminar\, please complete our online registration form by November 30\, 2020.
