DESCRIPTION:HOSTED BY WOOD COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE \n19 Market St\, Parkersburg WV 26101 \nThis program looks specifically at the construction of written and verbal statements to identify deception omission and the veracity of a witness or suspect. This program will provide the students with a fundamental and immediately usable method of reviewing written and verbal statements. Participants will learn: \n(1) the use of context when used in statements \n(2) word choices when used during statements \n(3) the construction of the statement \n(4) indicators of deception and/or omission relating to details of a statement \n(5) recognizing common phrases used by deceptive individuals \n(6) dissection and identification of statements using color coding. \nStudents will use the practical application during the course with either course-provided statements and scenarios\, or they may bring statements they are currently reviewing to the course to use during the practical exercise(s). \n  \nDATE/LOCATION/TIME:\n \nJanuary 11th and 12th\, 2024 \n319 Market St\nParkersburg WV 26101 \n8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. daily \n  \nREGISTRATION FEE/DISCOUNT RATE: $295 per person.   \nEnroll two agency personnel at $295 per person\, and the third person is enrolled at half-price ($147.50) OR enroll three agency personnel at $295 per person\, and the fourth person is enrolled free. \n  \nREGISTRATION/CANCELLATION POLICY:\n \nComplete the attached registration form and return it with your check or purchase order no later than January 2nd\, 2024.
