Arrest/Search/Seizure Seminar – April 11-15, 2022

HOSTED BY THE NEW MARTINSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT

This five-day seminar is designed specifically for law enforcement personnel and fire Marshalls that are tasked with making warranted and warrantless seizures, arrests, and searches. Instructor presentations, practical exercises, and scenario presentations will help students understand their individual abilities, skills, and limitations in various situations. Topics include:

(1) Review of constitutional guidelines
(2) Reasonable suspicion
(3) Probable cause
(4) Arrest with and without a warrant
(5) Searches with and without a warrant
(6) Acting under the color of law and Federal Guidelines.
