The focus of the course will be on the proper method of conducting internal affairs investigations and maintaining compliance with civil service regulations.  Topics covered include but will not be limited to:

(1) receipt of complaints
(2) notice to the suspected employee
(3) method of conducting an investigation
(4) differentiation between criminal and administrative investigations
(5) review boards
(6) civil service hearings
(7) appellate review
