PENNSYLVANIA POLICE RECORDS MANAGEMENT: August 17, 2020

Announcing a one-day seminar for law enforcement personnel within the State of Pennsylvania. This program is being conducted on August 17, 2020 at the Bucks County Public Safety/Police Training Center in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

PENNSYLVANIA POLICE RECORDS MANAGEMENT

This program is designed specifically for law enforcement personnel, whether sworn or civilian, who are assigned to the records unit within their agencies within the State of Pennsylvania.  This course focuses on how to implement the records function in an expeditious and efficient manner and in accordance with Pennsylvania laws and regulations.  This program will provide opportunity for participants to voice their concerns and to gain the necessary knowledge base relative to this most important job function. 

Topics to be covered include, but not limited to:

• dealing with the public in terms of both public and exempt type records
• copying of records
• laws and statutes to follow in regard to the handling of your agency records
• where to go if you are unsure of an interpretation of the law or if you have questions
• fees that are applicable and permissible
• handling sealed and/or expunged records
• rules and regulations regarding retention and destruction in compliance with State of Pennsylvania guidelines

Finally, the program will help new records personnel become acquainted with the options available to them to make their job easier and less stressful.
