COUNSELING AND MENTORING FOR TRAINING OFFICERS SEMINAR: October 25-26, 2021

This seminar is designed specifically for officers and supervisors assigned the task of mentoring a new or underachieving employee or trainee. Thera are a variety of challenges in ensuring all efforts are undertaken to ensure a productive employee for the agency. This program will consider some of the basic principles and applications that might be utilized in mentoring/counseling employees to enhance their assignment roles.
Topics include:
- recognizing employees in need mentoring before it is too late
- understanding the role of a mentor, including planning, organizing, directing, implementing, and evaluating activities
- overview of effective counseling techniques
- adult learning principles including use of auditory, visual, and kinesthetic;
- essential skills that mentors must have which include, strong interpersonal skills, team building abilities and communication skills
- overview of proper documentation necessary during the mentoring phase
- how to effectively deal with different generations of employees
LOCATION/TIME: October 25-26, 2021 – 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Bucks County Public Safety/Police Training Center, 1760 S. Easton Road in Doylestown, Pennsylvania
FEE: $195 per person
DISCOUNT RATE: Enroll two agency personnel at $195 per person and the third person is enrolled at half-price ($97.50). Enroll three agency personnel at $195 per person and the fourth person is enrolled free.
