CALL-TAKER/DISPATCHER CRITICAL INCIDENT MANAGEMENT: April 26-27, 2021

Designed to improve the skills of call-takers and dispatchers needed to deal with life threatening emergencies, crimes-in-progress calls, officer-in-trouble, and other situations in which immediate officer dispatch to the scene is necessary.
Topics include:
- roles and responsibilities of the telecommunicator
- the basics of gathering information
- how to prepare for, gather and dispatch information to field personnel during natural and man-made disasters;
- officer safety issues
- suicide and crisis negotiations for the telecommunicator
- handling personal stress when these situations occur
