Civilian:

Police Commander , Special Operations
US Federal Protective Service

Duties: Responsible for areas of terrorism counteraction, dignitary protection, special operations, haz mat operations, special event management and intelligence. This includes operations, planning, coordination and instruction. Serve as the FPS liaison to the DC Special Events Group Task Force and DC Office of Emergency Preparedness. From 1982 to present, serves as the Chairman of the Police Training Subcommittee of the Washington DC Area Council of Government (COG). Coordinate training among approximately 30 police agencies in the area and report monthly to the Police Chiefs Committee. Also, served as a member of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) subcommittee of COG. Served as a member of the law enforcement sector of the DC Metropolitan Medical Strike Team (MMST); and served on the original committee which developed the model for the MMST to be used by the US Public Health Service nationwide. From 1981-1988, served as the Chief, FPS Police Training Academy; developed a variety of training courses and provided instructions on numerous police subjects.

Duties: Provide instructions to college-level students in academic setting in the Criminal Justice Program. Subjects covered include Dignitary Protection , Terrorism, and First Response.

Self-Employment/Consulting: Owner of Special Operations Consulting Company: Conduct consulting, training and writing in areas of special operations. Have published numerous articles in professional journals. (Copies available upon request).
