Designed to improve the skills of call-takers and dispatchers needed to deal with life-threatening emergencies, crimes-in-progress calls, officer-in-trouble, and other situations in which immediate officer dispatch to the scene is necessary. Topics include:
(1) History of the active shooter and how they have evolved
(2) Active shooter vs hostage situation – how to know the difference and what to do for both
(3) Case studies of actual incidents
(4) …But I only have one officer” scenarios
(5) Planning and pre-planning
