First Line Supervision: February 23-25, 2022

This seminar provides an extensive focus on skills and techniques that new unit supervisors might utilize in their day-to-day functions. It is designed for those officers with little or no supervisory training and who need such a program of study to effectively oversee their unit’s operation. Topics include:
- Supervision as a management tool
- Interpersonal communications
- Motivation and leadership skills
- Aspects and models for team building
- Performance appraisal
- Role of the supervisor as trainer and coach
- Use of discipline as an important supervisory tool
- Employees with problems and problem employees
- Supervising officers from various backgrounds
- Handling critical incidents within and outside the unit
- Conflict resolution
LOCATION/TIME: February 23-25, 2022 – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily

FEE: $295 per person
