First Line Supervision

This seminar provides an extensive focus on skills and techniques that new unit supervisors might utilize in their day-to-day functions. It is designed for officers with little or no supervisory training who require a program of study to oversee their unit’s operations effectively. Topics include:

(1) Supervision as a management tool

(2) Interpersonal communications

(3) Motivation and leadership skills

(4) Aspects and models for team building

(5) Performance appraisal

(6) Role of the supervisor as trainer and coach

(7) Use of discipline as an essential supervisory tool

(8) Employees with problems and problem employees

(9) Supervising officers from various backgrounds

(10) Handling critical incidents within and outside the unit

(11) Conflict resolution.

Leadership Development

This seminar is designed to enhance the leadership skills of police officers and prepare them for influential leadership roles within law enforcement organizations. Participants will be able to:

(1) Provide officers with the necessary knowledge and tools to develop individual leadership skills.

(2) Implement knowledge, skills, and abilities developed during the instructional period to lead teams and increase teamwork.

(3) Prepare the officer to respond to critical incidents.

(4) Improve critical decision-making skills.

(5) Develop and promote a positive organizational culture.

REGISTRATION FEE/DISCOUNT RATE: $295 per person.
