Investigative Report Writing – June 1-2, 2020

Announcing a seminar focusing on Investigative Report Writing. This course is for personnel who wish to enhance their skills writing investigative reports. This program is being conducted June 1-2, 2020 and hosted by the Beckley Police Department, Beckley, West Virginia.

INVESTIGATIVE REPORT WRITING

This program will focus on the composition and writing of investigative reports. It will provide a review of specifics which the report should contain. The program is recommended for personnel who desire to sharpen their skills.

Topics include:

• identification of the essential elements of an investigative report, to include the Who, What, When, Where, Why and How of an incident under investigation
• formatting an investigative report for a clear, coherent statement of facts and is free from inconsistencies or contradictions
• applying the appropriate resources available to produce a professional looking and readable report
• properly cross-referencing the investigative report to related statements by interested parties and/or evidence
• self-editing reports prior to supervisory review
• supporting documents needed to clarify or amplify individual points or statements presented in the investigative report.

LOCATION/TIME: June 1 – 2, 2020, Beckley Police Department, 501 Neville Street, Beckley, West Virginia, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily.

FEE: $295 per person

DISCOUNT RATE:  Enroll two agency personnel at $295 per person and the third person is enrolled at half-price ($147.50).  Enroll three agency personnel at $295 per person and the fourth person is enrolled free.
