K-9 Unit Management; March 24 – 25, 2022

For managers in law enforcement, corrections, military, and commercial security who oversee K-9 Units. The program is especially valuable for those who have limited K-9 management training and want to improve the operational capability of their units. The program will introduce participants to various aspects of implementing and/or supplementing as well as establishing oversight and management of the K-9 unit. Topics include:

(1) purpose and process of establishing and augmenting a K-9 unit

(2) identifying issues that should be included in a comprehensive K-9 policy

(3) various key legal issues regarding the implementation and use of K-9 units

(4) procedures and record-keeping processes

(5) procedures for effective personnel selection

(6) use of outside consultants for personnel and man work training

(7) the need for promoting the program within the community

(8) medical issues and health maintenance of K-9s

(9) methods and means of dog selection

(10) basic supervisory and management techniques of the K-9 Unit

(11) field use of K-9s.

DATE\LOCATION/TIME:  March 24 – 25, 2022, Bucks County Public Safety/Police Training Center, 1760 S. Easton Road, Doylestown, Pennsylvania, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily.

FEE: $295 per person.  Enroll two agency personnel at $295 per person and the third person is enrolled at half-price ($147.50) OR enroll three agency personnel at $295 per person and the fourth person is enrolled free.
