Moving Up to Supervision – May 23 – 24

HOSTED BY THE CABELL COUNTY SHERIFFS’ OFFICE

For new, first-line supervisors, or those who expect such an assignment. The program presents information for work situations and will emphasize ideas to aid supervisors in developing sound judgment, self-reliance, and resourcefulness. Topics will include:

(1) the supervisor as a link between management and the workforce

(2) skills required to develop professional relationships with subordinates

(3) encouraging the growth of subordinates through recurrent evaluations and training

(4) discipline and how it reduces stress and builds unit morale

(5) employee problems and how they affect productivity and labor-management relations

(6) systems approach to supervision includes targeting objectives and monitoring, measuring, and appraising subordinate’s performance

(7) recognizing and dealing with troubled or troublesome employees.

DATE\LOCATION/TIME:  May 23 – 24, 2022, Cabell County Sheriff’s Office Training Center, 6400 4H Camp Road, Barboursville WV – 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily.

REGISTRATION FEE/DISCOUNT RATE: $295 per person.  Enroll two agency personnel at $295 per person and the third person is enrolled at half-price ($147.50) OR enroll three agency personnel at $295 per person and the fourth person is enrolled free.
