Announcing a seminar focusing on New Criminal Investigators. This program is being conducted October 26-30, 2020 and is hosted by the Department of Homeland Security / Transportation and Security Administration in St. Louis, Missouri.
NEW CRIMINAL INVESTIGATORS SEMINAR
This five-day team-conducted seminar is designed specifically for the new criminal investigator, personnel who anticipate future criminal investigation unit assignment, and those with little or no previous formal training on topics relating to the methodology and procedures involved in investigations. Instructor classroom presentations coupled with textbook readings and suggestive references connected to these classroom presentations, will give participants a solid foundation and understanding of basic investigative techniques and mentally prepare for more advanced studies.
TOPICS INCLUDE:
- An Overview of Criminal Investigation, to include Constitutional Review, Bivens Actions, and Administrative Investigations
- Elements of Writing Sound and Effective Reports
- Obtaining Information and Intelligence
- Canvassing Witnesses and Identifying Case suspects
- Fraud Investigations
- Sex Offenses
- Crimes Perpetrated in a Transportation Environment such as crimes Against Minors and Children; human trafficking, baggage and cargo theft, drug smuggling and terrorism
- Robbery and Burglary Investigation
- Property Offenses
- Evidence identification, preservation, collection and accountability.
LOCATION/TIME: Seminar conducted October 26-30, 2020 at Lambert International Airport, 10701 Lambert International Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63074; 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. daily.
FEE: $595 per person
