Police Recruitment Seminar – Perspectives on the Process; June 14-15, 2021

A two-day seminar for newly assigned personnel or personnel with little experience in overseeing the agency’s recruitment program. This course is ideal for those who have taken the previously offered, “pre-employment background investigation” seminar. It goes beyond that program’s content to explore in-depth important aspects and topics specifically concerned with the recruiting and hiring of suitable candidates for departmental openings.
Topics include:
- the changing workforce in the United States
- federal hiring law and EEC guidelines
- management strategies for staffing and supervising a recruitment unit
- using the Internet
- sample advertisements and scripts;
- minority hiring and affirmative action programs
- experiences of successful and unsuccessful recruitment campaigns.
DATE/TIME: June 14 – 15, 2021 – 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily
LOCATION: 501 Neville Street, Beckley, West Virginia, West Virginia
FEE: $295 per person.
