PRE-EMPLOYMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION: PERSPECTIVES ON THE PROCESS: November 12-13, 2020

Announcing a seminar focusing on the Pre-Employment Background Investigations. The focus of this course explores the functions and skills required of the officer tasked with conducting background investigations. This program is being conducted November 12-13, 2020 and hosted by the Beckley Police Department in Beckley, West Virginia.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION: PERSPECTIVES ON THE PROCESS
This is a basic two-day seminar for investigators who have little or no experience or formal training in performing pre-employment background investigations. The seminar will focus on background investigations within law enforcement, security, or government organizations.
Topics include:
- importance of the pre-employment background investigation
- what may or may not be asked during an investigation
- federal laws relating to employment of the handicapped;
- various resources that may be used during the course of an investigation;
- pre-employment interview techniques
- various tests that can be used in background investigation
LOCATION/TIME: November 12-13, 2020, Beckley Police Department, 501 Neville Street, Beckley, WV; 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily.
