Call Taker/Dispatcher Critical Incident Management – Jackson Co.

Designed to improve the skills of call-takers and dispatchers needed to deal with life-threatening emergencies, crimes-in-progress calls, officer-in-trouble, and other situations in which immediate officer dispatch to the scene is necessary. Topics include:
(1) Roles and responsibilities of the telecommunication
(2) The basics of gathering information
(3) How to prepare for, gather, and dispatch information to field personnel during natural and man-made disasters
(4) Officer safety issues
(5) Suicide and crisis negotiations for the telecommunication
(6) Handling personal stress when these situations occur
