Management of Criminal Investigations – Jackson Co.

This two-day program is dedicated to new investigations unit supervisors or those personnel preparing to transition from a patrol operations supervisory position to one supervising detectives and investigators. Topics covered during this session include:
(1) Identifying the difference in the roles of a uniformed operations supervisor and an investigation unit supervisor.
(2) Understanding of the importance of case assignment and review.
(3) Principles of case management and follow-up.
(4) Principles of applying leadership and management techniques where appropriate.
(5) Necessities of major case investigations.
(6) Measurement of investigative personnel’s performance during field operations.
(7) Common pitfalls and how to avoid them during investigative operations.
(8) Monitoring investigative squad personnel’s activities to maintain high-performance levels.
